Wofür steht der Vogel? Für Schönheit, und Leichtigkeit, aber auch für Absturz, Höhen-, und Tiefflüge. Für die Überwindung von Territorien, Aufbruch und Rückkehr. (…) Annika Unterburg zeigt neue abstrakte Malereien, in denen sich die Farbklänge des Vogelgefieders wiederfinden. Dem Medium der Porträtmalerei wird hier eine erweiterte Lesart hinzugefügt: Das flüchtige Element des Vogels spiegelt sich wider in einer Reihe von geschichteten Farbharmonien. Jeweils ein spezifischer Vogel ist einer Malerei zugeordnet.

What does the bird stand for? For beauty and lightness, but also for crashes, high and low flights. For overcoming territories, departure and return. (…) Annika Unterburg shows new abstract paintings in which the color tones of bird plumage can be found. An expanded reading is added to the medium of portraiture here: the fleeting element of the bird is reflected in a series of layered color harmonies. Each painting is assigned to a specific bird.
